邱副署長接見美國哈佛大學公衛學院研究生,暢談我國環保工作成果

美國哈佛大學公衛學院(Harvard School of Public Health)研究生Jin Qin等一行9人,於98年1月7日上午9時30分在行政院勞委會勞研所潘致弘博士陪同下,至本署進行參訪交流,本署由邱副署長文彥接見並主持會議,暢談化學品管理及我國環保政策相關議題。

邱副署長對於哈佛大學研究生至本署參訪表達歡迎之意,對於學生們之提問亦一一詳盡說明,希望透過本次座談與交流,能讓學生們了解臺灣對於環境保護工作專業與努力,實與國際間先進國家不分軒輊,對於先進國家最新管制措施,環保署亦能適時掌握並參採納入我國環保法規中,以維護國人健康。

美國哈佛大學公衛學院(Harvard School of Public Health)研究生本次係獲其姊妹校高雄醫學大學邀請,至該校參與工廠衛生管理實務課程。並藉由此次難得的機會,至本署參訪並了解各項環境保護工作與我國毒性化學物質管理現況,本署並提供相關簡報使其更能深入知悉我國各項環保推動現況與本署業務職掌,並於簡報後進行綜合座談。

EPA Deputy Minister Chiau Meets Graduate Students From Harvard School of Public Health. Talks About The Accomplishments of Environmental Work In Taiwan

Graduate student Jin Qin and eigth others from Harvard School of Public Health visited the EPA accompanied by Dr. Chih-Hong Pan from the Institute of Occupational Safety & Health, Council of Labor Affairs, Executive Yuan at 9:30 on January 7, 2009. Deputy Minister Wen-Yan Chiau, presided over a meeting with visitors talking about chemical management and related environmental protection policies in Taiwan.

Harvard School of Public Health for their visit, and answered all the questions from the students, hoping that through this discussion and visit the students can better understand Taiwan's environmental protection work. Taiwan’s efforts are similar to those of many international advanced countries. For advanced countries in the latest control measures, the EPA Taiwan also timely grasped and adopted them into our environmental protection laws and regulations in order to safeguard the health of citizens.

The graduate students from Harvard School of Public Health visited the EPA by their sister school Kaohsiung Medical University's invitation to participate in a plant health management practice course. Though the opportunity of this visit, the students hoped to learn about environmental protection work and the status of toxic chemical substances and environmental endocrine disrupting chemicals management in Taiwan. The department provided relevant briefings to make them more aware of each environmental protection impetus at present in Taiwan as well as the responsibilities and affairs of the EPA. There was also a comprehensive discussion after the presentation.
